History
The Franklin County Infirmary opened on November 1, 1883. The Infirmary was originally known as a poor house and housed residents who were unable to care for or support themselves. The Board of Charities and Corrections oversaw poor houses and poor farms in Indiana. The county operated the facility until 1952, when it was rented out and later sold to private owners.
