The South Carolina Industrial School for Boys was established by the South Carolina General Assembly in 1910. The School consisted of multiple buildings and dormitories, located near Florence, South Carolina. The exact former location of the school is not clear in public records. The South Carolina Industrial School for Boys in Florence is most remembered for its notorious inmate Donald "Pee Wee" Gaskins. The School was phased out in the 1970s following the construction of a central School for Boys in Columbia, South Carolina.
