History

Madden Zone Center as it was known, served the central and south sections of Chicago and southern suburbs. On December 6th 1966 the first administrative and core staff moved into the still incomplete and unfurnished facility. The first patients were admitted into a day program that opened in June 1967, the first inpatient ward opened several months later. The Madden Zone Center developed a close relationship with the Loyola Stritch School of Medicine that continues today.
