Archaic Medical Terms is a category for terms that have since been removed from common medical and clinical use. These terms can be ancient in origin, theories that are now considered medical blunders, or even old terms for modern psychiatric conditions that have simply fallen out of use because of a shift in the diction of everyday language. A Common example for this might be: Idiot. At one time it had a particular meaning that was explicitly clinical, but has since been dropped because of its adoption into the colloquial.

To create a new page for a specific term simply type the term into the search box on the left toolbar and click the "Go" button. If no page for your term exists you can then create the page by clicking on the red link. Be sure to add the Terminology category tag at the bottom of each new term page or it will not show up in this list.
