A building plan refers to the over all method to which a particular hospital was built. There have been a wide variety of building plans used over years and methods of building continue to evolve and change into the twenty first century. It is not uncommon for most older hospitals to have progressed with building plan trends throughout the years. Some have even used several different plans as their campuses continued to expand and evolve. Below are links to all the major types of asylum and institution building styles.
