Adolf Meyer Zone Center was located in Decatur. The center was occupied by administrative staff in July 1966. The first inpatient unit opened January 1967. It was able to reduce state hospital admissions and later to the center itself so dramatically that it closed in 1996. The county mental health center temporarily used to facility before being converted in the Decatur Correctional Center for Women in 2000.
