History[edit]
The Benton County Home was established in 1879 and included an activity barn, garage, and yard barn on the property. Currently functioning as the Benton County Retirement village, its goals is to serve as an assisted living environment for the elderly in the area. The Benton County Retirement Village offers residents a private room, three meals each day, fresh linens, weekly laundry and housekeeping services. In addition residents are encouraged to remain active through small chores, yard work and gardening. Church services and entertainment are provided weekly. [1]
Cemetery[edit]
A small cemetery on the property contains the graves of around 80 former patients. Only 12 have been identified.
