History
The Parke County Poor Asylum was first built in 1930, and destroyed later in the same year, and rebuilt a few years later. The facility contained the main building, an old jail house, a brick barn, and two pole barns. The facility was closed in 2009 due to owners not paying taxes, and was officially closed by the state in 2010.
