For more information regarding the history of the Pinehurst Sanitarium please check out the website of the History of Rock Haven located here [http://www.co.rock.wi.us/index.php/rock-haven-history].  The former grounds of the site were taken over by the Rock County Health Department and jail complexes.  Part of the grounds are still used as an acute psychiatric and nursing home, but staffing and beds in the facility were downsized in the late 2000'S.  The site is still currently in active use though much of the original structure and facilities were demolished or renovated as needs changed.
