History[edit]

The seventh Choctaw school opened in Indian Territory, named Norwalk School, was placed under control of the American Board of Commissioners for Foreign Missions in October 1845 by the Choctaw Council. Located "near Wheelock Seminary", it is unclear if the boys' school was involved in the fire that burnt down Wheelock in 1869.
