The sanatorium was one-half mile from Gatliff, the nearest railway station, on the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway lines and the sanatorium was easily reached by car from Racine.  No further information on the closing date or demolish of the facility is currently available, but many of the facilities closed in the 1950's and 1960's due to advances in the treatment of Tuberculosis.
