Would have been committed c. 1895. Was from Chicago. May have died 15 March 1918, and have been buried at Bluff City Cemetery. Is my great-grandfather, and has been lost to memory of his descendants.

Was Gladys Lagerstrom a staff member At Elgin State Hospital?
I came across this death record for my great grand aunt, Marie Hughes. It was signed by Gladys Lagerstrom in 1957. Does anyone know if she was employed there? We have a family rumor Marie was mentally incapacitated some. It may or may not be true.

Rose Vondrasek died while at Elgin in 1935
Rose was my maternal grand-aunt. I sure wish I knew how she ended up there. A once vibrant stenographer/book keeper. She had worked in banks. Sadly, her father died in 1949 after several years maybe at Chicago State. My question is, I guess, what did it take to declare someone incompetent enough to hospitalize them.

Did anyone know her?

Olivia Brister - Was there a Cemetery on Site?
I am looking for information on Olivia Brister who probably died while a resident of the hospital. She would have had no family. Does anyone have information on where they would have buried a resident with no family? Maybe there was a cemetery on site?
