Unfortunately the asylum closed in the 1930's and all patients were transferred to oahu hospital. I would try contacting the hospital proper to see if they have any census records or information on patients from that time period. Short of that, you might try the local department of public health or department of mental health for Hawaii. I don't know that they will ahve kept records that go that far back though.

Hallie Allice Bolton or Hollie Allice Boltman(misspelled in 1940 census)
ANNA ILLINOIS AYSLUM Entered 1925-30 till possible 1971 @ death. Born March 1896. She's my great aunt and was married
to Felix Bolton and some how was admitted to the asylum. She had a
brilliant mind and could communicate by penmanship. Visited her on many
occasions from 1962-1967/68 when I was a child. She was a deaf/mute.
Want to know of her life in the asylum and her last years of life. I believe she
died in another close by county of Massac, city of Metroplis, IL. Anna Gazette newspaper article showed Anna
Hospital ordered a burial permit....believe she passed away May 1971. The
newspaper was dated June 1971. I didn't find her in the Anna Hospital grounds
cemetery or nearby Jonesboro courthouse records. Any information on this poor soul and her final resting place would
be greatly appreciated. As her family, I want to make sure she has a tombstone
and some beautiful flowers...... Bless her.

I'll send you an email. Sometimes finding place of burial can be tricky. She likely was transferred out to a nursing home and died there.

Torrence State Hospital, Blairsville, PA
Trying to find ANY information about my Great Aunt Bessie Davison who was a patient at Torrence State Hospital in Blairsville, PA sometime between 1930-1950. She was born 9/4/1889 and died 6/12/1950. The last record that we have of her is in the 1930 census. She lived with her mother who died later that year. We have been told she was sent to Torrence but know nothing beyond this. Were state hospital patients listed by name on the census? Cheryl
