I would like to reproduce one of the photo's from this Asylum Projects web site in my scholarly work. How would I go about securing that photo's author permission to reproduce his / hers work? Can someone direct me to the administrator to get this answered, please?

Many thanks for offering to help. The photo I am interested is at:

http://www.asylumprojects.org/index.php?title=File:BHSH_Image2.jpg

It is entitled "BHSH_Image2.jpg? (800 × 547 pixels, file size: 163 KB, MIME type: image/jpeg)

Greater Binghamton Health Center - main building."

Thank you!

Yes you can as long as you credit where you got the image.

Thank you for the permission. Would it be possible to get a more formal permission in a form of an email from the author stating the work and stating the permission?

Seeking copyright status or permission to reproduce . . . asap
I would like to use this photo to illustrate a blog item about the current state of long-term psychiatric care in the U.S. written by bioethicists at the University of Pennsylvania. The leader found this photo on your site but I don't see anything about copyright. (If we cannot use it, perhaps there is something similar that would work?).

Our blog is already posted (without a photo at the moment): http://www.philly.com/philly/blogs/public_health/Seeking_common_ground_in_very_different_v...

Thanks.

Copyright permission for Bedford Alms House drawing
I would like to know if your site holds the rights to the following drawing of the Bedford Alms House artist rendering. http://www.asylumprojects.org/index.php?title=File:Bedford_County_Almshouse_1885_Report.jp...

I would like a formal permission to use it in a publication about my ancestors, one of whom built the Almshouse.

Or perhaps this is in the public domain?

Thank you

That image appears to have been scanned from an old report. Whether its a local, county, or state report I am not sure. The original uploader did not include any special copywrite/extra information. So I'd say it is under general rights and/or scanned from the annual report by the uploader.

I'm not sure what type of extra formal permission you need to use it. However, you can use it in your publication as long as you give us/uploader a mention/credit for the image.

Image rights
I'd like to use some of the images here (http://www.asylumprojects.org/index.php?title=Ypsilanti_State_Hospital_Image_Gallery) for a story about the Ypsilanti State Hospital. Am I able to do this by simply crediting Asylum Projects?
