|My name is Alice Susette Timaio Mock. I was born Rosalee Gutierrez on July 19, 1944, at William Memorial Hospital. I currently live in Chula Vista, CA. My email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org. I am searching the whereabouts of my natural mother, Jane Gutierrez, who was an inmate at the Winfield Training School (formerly Winfield State Hospital). She and her sister was sent here as they were delinquents. While there as a inmate, my mother, Jane Gutierrez became pregnant and I was born July 19, 1944. Eventually, I made a ward of the state, taken away from my mother, and put up for adoption. I was adopted in 1947. A Mr. Thune was Supervisor at that time. I did receive some documentation from the State of Kansas, which, unfortunately, has been lost. At the time, I was informed that that would be information sent to me, which never was. This institution if now a prison. Where did the records of the institution go? Where are they stored? How can I get copies of documents pertaining to me? Are there any pictures of the Inmates (1940-1945)? My natural mother was released and she came back to the institution every year until 1955 asking about my whereabouts. Such information was refused. Also, her sister (my aunt) died of TB one year after admitted to institution. Jane Gutierrez, and her sister, lived in Larned, KS at the time they were institutionalized. Please send any and all information you may have on my mother, or advise who I can contact for information, like were are the records are stored and how can retrieve them. Thank you.
