St. Vincents Asylum
My grandfather was treated there in 1893 or 894. Do you have any records going back that far. His name was Albert P. Stidham from Eufaula, Oklahoma. My email is dlhodgden@yahoo.com

St Vincent's
Does anyone know where one could obtain medical records or patient information from the 1950 (?). My mother was a patient @ the hospital around 1950 - 1953. My mother is now deceased. My family never explained anything about her stay @ the hospital. That type of thing was not discussed back in the day. The way I understand it is it was a private asylum and my grandfather paid for my mother's stay. My mother had a severe nervous breakdown, actually had a lobotomy, then stayed @ this asylum for 3 years, then transferred to the hospital on Arsenal St. for another 3 - 4 years. She eventually got out of the hospital, went on the have two children, but was never quite mentally "all there" for the remainder of her life.
The most ironic thing is that she moved into the St. Vincent's Hospital after it was renovated into apts. years later. She never mentioned or talked about being a patient at the location years earlier. Any information would be so appreciated.

childhood records
would anyone be able to tell me where i could obtain copies of my hospital records from 1971-1972? I was a child, age 9-10 at the time... my parents put me there, apparently because of "depression" and my memories are very blurry (most likely due to drugs). I was the only child in this adult ward, and now, at age 51, i still think about this experience. Any help/info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to anyone who can help :-) my email is danac541@yahoo

Green Co, Mo. records
My friends family is trying to prove or disprove the old rumor that their Grandfather drove their Grandmother, Dona Catherine Chadwick Mason, b. 1883 in Georgia, insane from inhumane treatment. Dona is listed in the 1910 census but is not shown in the 1920 census. The rumor is that she was in what was called an "insane asylum" after that. Any help will be appreciated. Her husbands name was John Marshall Mason, b. 1874 d. 1943. He was also m. in 1894 to Viola Harris, b. 1872 in Tn.
I can be contacted at arbo751@myfairpoint.net

Great Aunt's Records
My great aunt, Mary Winchester, was a patient at St. Vincent's in the first decade of the 1900's. she had a brother, Robert Winchester, my grandfather who worked in St. Louis, so I believe he was the only one to check in on her while she was there. They were both Natchez, Mississippi natives. Any information on my great aunt and/or how to obtain copies of any existing records would be much appreciated.

My contact information is jlg.eannarino@gmail.com

Many thanks.

Medical records
I, too, had a mother admitted there in October 1975 - Her name was Carol Kelley Stodghill and her DOB was 2-15-22. Any one know how I can get her medical records? I remember it as a horrible place - the orderly beat my mother because she sisn't want to go into the "quiet room" I was 15 at the time. Shortly after we moved her from here to Jewish Hospital she died.

I think it's safe to say the original poster is long gone. That said, this asylum was run by the the Catholic Diocese, so record keeping wasn't the same as a state-run institution. The Missouri History Museum has some old records, according to their site, but doesn't look like much.

Records
I read the latest entry from Apr. 9, 2014, stating the original person who started this page is no longer around. I still have a little hope that maybe someone might have records on patients during 1940s-1980s before it was closed. If you do, will you please repost because I have a great-grandmother who stayed there for decades, as far as I know she was there until the end. I have one living relative on that side of the family and she has no idea so, any help would be greatly appreciated! I have contacted Daughter of Charity archival dept., the hospital that someone said records were transferred to (they were not), St. Louis genealogists pages, sent emails, and my hope is dwindling. Thanks!

Seeking Information...
I was at St. Vincent's sometime between 1964 - 1969. I was a child who could not read or tell time due to being so young. Can anyone tell me where to find records for that time period, as I would like to know why I was there, and who put me there. Thank you for any assistance you can provide.
