|Body= After visiting a number of localities a farm of 250 acres was selected at [[Danville State Hospital|Danville, Pa.]], at a cost of $26,600 of which the citizens of Danville had generously contributed $16,123.12. This farm was situated on the north branch of the Susquehanna River, about one mile east of Danville.

Four years later, six mentally afflicted patients were removed from the prison to the asylum. The hospital closed sometime in the 1930's when most of the patients were transferred to the new Oahu hospital in 1930. No record of the facility after the transfers was readily available.
